Description: | Assumes mentor role for the development of all ten (10) year resource
management plans for all State forests. This includes providing
direction to field units in drafting these plans, assisting with
obtaining the needed information and reviewing the plans to insure that
their final format is acceptable prior to approval. Attends all public
hearings and related activities associated with the resource management
plans on State forests. Also insures that the management concepts as
outlined in approved ten (10) year land management plans formats are
included.
Works with field units in preparing both annual and five (5) year action
plans, which are to include, but are not necessarily limited to, the
following management activities: prescribed burning, timber harvesting,
road maintenance, recreation, reforestation, wildlife management, rare
and endangered species protection, invasive specie control, and
hydrological restoration as applicable to a particular tract of land.
Coordinates confirmation from field units on their completion of
up-dated five (5) year and yearly action plans.
Administers State Forest Liaison Committee files and coordinates the
review and approval of all committees by the appropriate Division
personnel. Attends Liaison Group meetings at field units in conjunction
with other planning activities as the Forest Management Bureau
representative and reports on pertinent information.
