Description: | The Forestry Technician's primary duty will be variable plot cruising. The work is arduous by nature in that the cruiser must cross-country hike and negotiate steep, brushy terrain to establish sample plots.
Other duties may include calibrating, installing and downloading various sensing devices to monitor watercourses and surrounding areas, maintaining stream water quality equipment, microclimate equipment and fire weather stations, taking drainage profiles, tree planting, and lab work.
Forestry Technicians may also establish and maintain seed orchards and progeny sites. Cone collecting or other forest management tasks may also be assigned as well.
