Description: | I need technicians to assist with surveying vegetation communities within the Atlantic Coastal Plain of North Carolina. The position will begin on JUNE 15 (negotiable) and end on AUGUST 10 (negotiable). Applicants will be identifying and quantifying plants in 5 year old clear-cuts on private property in Brunswick County and Craven County, North Carolina. Researchers will be taking part in a graduate study to investigate the effects of intense loblolly pine management on wildlife and plant communities. Applicants should be familiar with plant species of the southeastern United States and be able to use a dichotomous key to identify any unknown plants. Duties include collecting plant data using quadrats and line transects and entering data into a spreadsheet. |
