Description:
The Virginia Department of Forestry is searching for two Foresters to assist the RC&D Councils in Eastern and Western Virginia to develop and expand forestry programs and related projects. Incumbent assists these councils with on-going projects dealing with forestry related urban interface, fire risk, rural development, natural resource, and quality of life issues. The incumbent is expected to provide project and grant management oversight; seek outside funding for projects; and develop partnerships with local groups and organizations to help further the forestry program. Incumbent works with local DOF personnel and keeps them informed of projects in their area. He/she is also expected to assist in fire suppression activities and other emergency duties that may involve DOF.
Salary:
$30,000 to $36,000
