Other: | The ideal candidate will have the ability to develop wildlife habitat enhancements based on species natural history, resolve resource issues, tolerance of all viewpoints, and have knowledge of Federal Assistance funding programs and requirements. The candidate must be able to work independently and manage changing work priorities to meet established deadlines. Good communication and public relations skills are necessary in both public settings and written communications. Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in a wildlife science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university and three years professional experience in wildlife research or wildlife management. A graduate degree in a wildlife science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university may substitute for one year of the required experience. |
Description: | Provides programmatic direction for the statewide Landowner Incentive Program (LIP), which provides technical and financial assistance to private landowners to create or enhance habitat for sensitive species on their land. Plans, directs, organizes, implements, and monitors program and project activities through close direct coordination and communication with Regional and Phoenix based Landowner Relations Program Specialists. Reviews, prioritizes, approves, negotiates, manages, and implements LIP projects. Ensures administrative and project funding availability and accurate expenditures. Manages a complex budget with a variety of state and Federal requirements. Assists with various Stewardship projects associated with the Landowner Relations program including the Heritage Access Program and Heritage Stewardship Program. Prepares correspondence and documentation pertaining to LIP and other Landowner Relations Programs. Presents programs and represents the Department at technical meetings, Commission meetings, and public information sessions. Performs other duties and responsibilities as directed by the supervisor. |
