Master's degree in agriculture, horticulture, forestry, environmental sciences, human/youth development, education, or other closely related area strongly preferred. Successful experience in program development and management, demonstrated communications, leadership and management skills. Ability to design, teach and conduct educational programs to meet community needs. Ability to work as a team member and with groups and committees. This position requires frequent night meetings, some weekend work, attendance at out-of-county meetings, driver=s license and a personal vehicle for official duty travel. A travel allowance will be provided.

Administrative Relationships: Is a UGA Public Service Faculty Member and a member of the Lincoln County Extension Staff. Is under the direction and leadership of the Lincoln County Extension Coordinator and the Northeast District Extension Director.

Plans and conducts informal educational programs in youth development and education, animal science, forestry, horticulture, landscape management, water conservation and quality and other issues.
Provides leadership for volunteers, para-professionals and teen leaders in delivering a 4-H Youth program.
Utilizes the expertise of advisory groups, community leaders, public officials and representatives of intended audiences to analyze data, identify needs and assist in developing educational programs.
Develops plan of work that is equitable in meeting the needs of the varied county socio-economic situations. Targets specific audiences addressing critical issues identified in plan of work. Implements Cooperative Extension Service CR/AA/EEO plan.
Develops and conducts relevant interdisciplinary programs with other staff members based on critical issues.
Collaborates with other agencies and community groups to plan and implement programs.
Conducts promotional efforts to expand the public’s view of extension programming.
Utilizes current research data and information on emerging issues in program development and teaching.
Demonstrates personal interest and involvement in community by participating in and supporting civic/community activities/organizations and networking with community leaders.

$36,000 minimum

$36,000 minimum for Master’s degree in appropriate subject
area. An excellent benefits package is available as a faculty member of the
