BA/BS in natural resources, agriculture, or a policy-related field is required. A multi-disciplinary background is preferable. Ability to conduct extensive research is a must. Excellent writing, speaking and computer skills are required. Experience in or demonstrated commitment to environmental advocacy is a plus.

Description:
The intern will support NWF's private lands conservation work by
helping to develop a campaign to ensure strong wildlife conservation
provisions in the 2007 Farm Bill.

The Farm Bill Policy Intern will assist in the development of
educational and advocacy materials for activists, agency, and
congressional staff. The Intern will manage web and listserv postings,
research policy and ecological topics, and prepare fact sheets and other
written documents. Other intern duties will include coordinating
workshops, assisting with lobby days, assisting with tabling and
outreach at 2-4 local events on college and university campuses and
elsewhere to sign up volunteers and activists for NWF campaigns, hosting
one or more networking sessions with other interns, prospective interns
or intern alumni, and helping to educate the public on current research
and other projects by writing articles for various NWF publications,
external journals and/or campus and hometown newspapers.
Salary:
$8 an hour plus core benefits
Benefits:
Intern will gain substantive experience,
including attendance at meetings with coalition partners, administrative
agencies and congressional staff.
