To be basically qualified for this job: You must meet the basic eligibility requirements for the GS-458 series as set forth in the Qualification Standards. To qualify at the GS-5 level, 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 level of Federal service is required; or a 4 year course of study above the high school level leading to a Bachelor’s Degree with courses related to the position. To qualify at the GS-4 level, 6 months of general and 6 months of specialized experience; or 2 years of education above high school with courses related to this position.

Description:
--Advise landusers on the installation and maintenance of soil and water
conservation practices.
--Obtain crop history and physical data related to field sites, selects field
site for installation of soil conservation measures.
--Perform survey work using transit and rod, reduces survey notes.
--Advises farmers on erosion control measures through use of chisel plow, offset
of tandem disks, no-till, till plant and strip tillage implements.
Salary:
$24,641 to $35,844 PER YEAR
