Description:
Duties include conducting nest searches, monitoring nest success, mapping territories, conducting area-wide population censuses, assisting with color banding of adults and fledglings, and collecting vegetation data around nest-sites. The study is being conducted in suburban habitats in Port Charlotte and in newly acquired reserves along the Peace River. LEAD RESEARCH ASSISTANT – The lead field worker will have experience organizing and managing data in Excel, Access, and ArcView and be able to assist with preparation of graphics and reports. Pay is $12.00 – 13.50/hr depending upon experience and qualifications and minimum time commitment is 5 ½ months. SECOND RESEARCH ASSISTANT – The second assistant may have less experience in project coordination and data management.
Salary:
$11.00-12.00/hr and minimum commitment is 4 months.

Vehicles will be provided for use on the project, and inexpensive housing is available on the scenic Peace River. Opportunities exist for citizen education and outreach efforts.
