Description: | Basic Function: Develop and implement public outreach programs and provide
technical assistance to address small farm related water resource issues. Supervise volunteers and conservation crews. Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the identification of educational programs to improve
the ability of landowners to increase their stewardship of natural
resources.
2. Assist in the development of programs, as well as materials to
support the programs.
3. Coordinate program activities with other WSU programs and external
organizations.
4. Identify and pursue funding opportunities to implement identified
potential programs.
5. Provide effective management and support for volunteers relative
to carrying out programs.
6. Provide technical assistance for the implementation of
conservation practices for structural and managerial solutions to problems
with water quality, fish and wildlife habitat, erosion, drainage, and
irrigation.
7. Develop resource conservation plans that address soil, water,
animal, plant and air resources that satisfy the planning criteria for the
Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS).
8. Provide logistical support for educational programs, including:
identifying and arranging appropriate speakers, compiling educational
materials, photocopying, contacting program participants and conducting
follow-up surveys of participants.
9. Manage purchasing and expenditures so that they are in accordance
with the established budgets.
10. Develop required grant related reports.
11. Report activities in the WSU AICS reporting system.
12. Prepare written summaries of information related to evaluating the
programs.
13. Participate in Mason County Extension Office staff meetings.
14. Participate in Mason Conservation District staff and board meetings.
15. Write press releases and articles related to program activities. |
