Alaska Center for the Environment is Alaska's largest membership group working for the protection of Alaska's wild places and unique quality of life. Founded in 1971, ACE is the primary grassroots conservation organization in Southcentral Alaska, with programs dedicated to conserving Alaska's public lands and waters. ACE programs focus on Denali National Park, the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, the Chugach National Forest, Prince William Sound, and local issues in the Municipality of Anchorage. ACE has a year-round staff of ten and dozens of seasonal organizers and other staff.
