There are several causes for doves not visiting your field. Doves may prefer other foods or fields in the area. When there are too many dove fields or there is too much food for the available birds, success may be poor. Sometimes location is a key factor. Some fields are productive year after year and others planted in a similar way rarely attract many doves. The reasons for this are known only to the birds. Productive fields often result in areas of mixed fields and forests, where there are few good feeding areas for doves.
