CAPPS Project #2

Solid Wood Production in Intensively Managed Loblolly Pine Plantations with Individual Tree Taper, Weight and Volume Relationships

Objectives

1) To produce loblolly pine saw logs (14 - 16 inch average dbh) by age 22 or 23 with appropriate cleaning and fertilization regimes used in conjunction with a thinning regime on a subset of the acid rain study plots (the second time replicates of the B.F. Grant Powerline site and the Waycross wet site). Prune selected crop trees on thinned plots using a split of the original treatment plots.

2) To develop individual tree weight, volume, and taper equations for intensively managed loblolly pine trees.
